Hitechniques

How Hitechniques went from RTK reseller to Ireland's fastest-growing independent network

Hitechniques stopped reselling other people's corrections and built RTK.ie — nationwide Irish coverage from 30+ reference stations, running on Glopos with fully managed GNSMART infrastructure.

Hitechniques is a surveying technology company based in Ireland. For years, the company supplied professional GNSS and surveying equipment while reselling RTK correction services from third-party providers. They handled customer support, but the underlying infrastructure belonged to someone else. They decided it was time to build a network of their own.

Today, RTK.ie delivers nationwide coverage through over 30 reference stations, serves hundreds of paying customers, and has grown into a profitable, sustainable business. The entire operation runs on Navmatix’s Glopos platform, powered by fully managed GNSMART infrastructure.

The move changed the business fundamentally. Hitechniques became an independent network operator with full control over the quality, reliability, and customer experience they deliver.

The Challenge

Ireland’s RTK correction market was falling short of customer expectations. Coverage was inconsistent, service quality varied between providers, and rising ionospheric activity was making reliable positioning harder still.

Few companies understood those problems better than Hitechniques. As a reseller with access to the underlying systems of several providers, they could see exactly where the weaknesses lay: coverage gaps, inconsistent data quality, and operational limitations that affected end users. The problem was that none of those issues were theirs to fix.

Dariusz Liszka, General Manager at Hitechniques, saw the same limitations repeated across every provider they worked with.

We were reselling corrections from different suppliers. None of the providers could deliver what we wanted. But because we had access to the backend of their systems, we could clearly see where they were falling short. That experience helped us define exactly what we wanted our own network to become.

Rather than continuing to depend on someone else’s infrastructure, Hitechniques set out to build a correction service they could stand behind. One that was reliable, scalable, and entirely under their own control.

Why they didn’t build it themselves

Running enterprise-grade correction infrastructure demands expertise well beyond Hitechniques’ core business.

We have a basic understanding of hosting environments. It’s enough to keep things running, but nowhere near enough to operate this kind of infrastructure ourselves.

Like many operators, they initially relied on the software bundled with their reference stations. It worked for a small deployment, but the limitations became clear as the network grew. Reliability suffered. Visibility into the system was poor. The platform simply was not designed to support a professional, nationwide RTK service.

Scalability compounded the problem. Growing from a handful of stations to a national network requires infrastructure that can scale without sacrificing reliability. Hitechniques needed more than software. They needed a technology partner who could manage the complexity behind the scenes.

Finding the right partner

Hitechniques first met Navmatix at Intergeo in Germany in 2018. What stood out immediately was not the software alone, but the completeness of the solution. Unlike many alternatives, Navmatix was not offering just an NTRIP caster. They had built an end-to-end platform designed specifically for professional correction networks.

What attracted us to Navmatix was the fact that they offered a complete solution. It wasn’t just another caster. It was a platform that had clearly been designed with network operators in mind.

Experience mattered, too. Hitechniques knew Navmatix was already providing software for one of Europe’s largest correction service providers, which meant the infrastructure had been tested at scale.

Before committing, they considered a range of platforms available on the market, including Trimble Pivot, Leica Spider, Alberding, and the software they had already outgrown. Each had strengths, but none offered the combination of capabilities Hitechniques was looking for. What set Navmatix apart was not a single feature. It was the complete package: a modern caster, a proven correction engine, a management platform, automation through APIs, and a fully managed service that removed the operational burden from Hitechniques’ team.

What Navmatix actually delivers

Navmatix does far more than host the Glopos platform. They manage the entire GNSMART environment, the correction engine that powers RTK.ie behind the scenes.

Rather than investing time and resources in maintaining complex infrastructure, Hitechniques chose to let Navmatix handle both the platform and the correction engine.

Having Navmatix not only provide the caster but also integrate and manage GNSMART for us was probably the best decision we made. It took an enormous amount of work off our shoulders.

Instead of worrying about servers, software updates, and the technical complexity of running GNSMART in-house, the team can focus on what creates value: supporting customers, expanding the network, and developing new services. The infrastructure simply works.

Why the partnership works

Technology was only part of the decision. Equally important was finding a partner they could rely on over the long term. That, according to Dariusz, is where Navmatix has consistently stood out.

They listen — then they act

Many software vendors ask for feedback. Far fewer act on it. Dariusz says one of the biggest differences with Navmatix is that customer input genuinely shapes how the platform evolves.

They’re always open to feedback. They regularly ask customers what could be improved, but more importantly, they actually act on it. It’s not just something they say — they genuinely listen.

That responsiveness has built trust on both sides. Rather than delivering a static product, Navmatix continues to evolve Glopos around the real-world needs of network operators.

Complete transparency

No IT infrastructure is perfect. Servers need maintenance. Hardware fails. Unexpected issues arise. What matters is how those problems are handled. For Dariusz, transparency has been one of the defining qualities of working with Navmatix.

Of course, from time to time you have small outages or technical issues. That’s simply the nature of IT infrastructure. The difference is that we’ve always received complete transparency. Whenever something happens, we get a detailed explanation of what caused it, what was done to resolve it, and what measures have been put in place to prevent it from happening again. I’ve rarely seen that level of professionalism from other suppliers.

Built for everyday use

When Hitechniques migrated from the older platform to Glopos, the improvement was immediate. The interface was cleaner, the workflow simpler, and customer management faster.

The most significant gains, however, were structural. Glopos gives Hitechniques the flexibility to automate processes that would otherwise require manual work. Its API enables integrations with external systems. The platform supports online sales through a web store and includes multi-tenant capabilities suited to organisations operating reseller or sub-dealer networks.

The platform is incredibly easy to use. Whether you’re a small company or a large enterprise, it saves an enormous amount of time. That’s one of its biggest strengths.

Instead of spending hours on administration, the team can focus on growing the business.

The turning point

At one point, Dariusz spoke with another RTK network operator elsewhere in Europe. That company had taken a different path, running GNSMART on its own infrastructure and handling everything internally. Hearing what that took made one thing immediately clear. The time they were spending on server maintenance, software administration, customer management, and day-to-day operations was on an entirely different level. Hitechniques was not dealing with any of that.

Our experience was completely different. There really wasn’t any comparison. The gap was enormous — and it was entirely in favour of using Glopos. That was the moment I thought, “Wow.”

That conversation reinforced what they had already begun to realise. The biggest advantage was not simply better software. It was having a partner who removed the operational complexity of running an RTK network, freeing Hitechniques to focus on growth rather than infrastructure.

The results

What began as an equipment reseller supporting third-party correction services has evolved into one of Ireland’s fastest-growing independent RTK networks. Hitechniques now owns the customer relationship, controls service quality, and operates a business that continues to grow on infrastructure designed to scale with it.

What’s next

With the network firmly established, Hitechniques is focused on the next stage of growth. The RTK.ie website and online store are already live, making it easy for customers to purchase correction services directly.

The brand stands on its own. The business model has proven itself. The network is profitable, sustainable, and validated by customer feedback. New customers regularly tell the team they switched from other providers because they wanted something more reliable and easier to use.

Hitechniques is now planning to expand the network to 60 stations. Scaling is not a concern: Glopos was built for it from the ground up. The team also plans to introduce additional services that expand the value of the platform, some potentially developed in collaboration with Navmatix.

It’s a business that generates profit. It’s profitable, sustainable, and very stable. If you take care of your customers, they’ll stay with you.

Why Dariusz recommends Navmatix

When asked what he would say to another company considering Navmatix, Dariusz does not talk about features first. He talks about the relationship.

We work with companies all over the world, and Navmatix is one of those rare companies you genuinely enjoy doing business with. Everything runs smoothly, the quality of service is outstanding, and they don’t feel like just another supplier. They feel like a true business partner.

Hitechniques’ success came from focusing on what they do best: supporting customers and growing their business, while leaving the complexity of the underlying infrastructure to a trusted partner. The result is a modern, nationwide RTK network built to scale, backed by enterprise-grade technology, and supported by a partnership that continues to evolve alongside the business.
